“Why Coaching?”

After launching my leadership coaching business, many people reached out to ask “why”?  Why start a coaching business?  Why take this risk?  Why now?  All valid questions for sure and ones that I asked myself before starting this new venture.  The answer quite simply is a desire to pay it forward.

During my journey in the corporate world, I've been fortunate to experience firsthand the transformative power of coaching. Whether through sponsored sessions provided by generous leaders or through investments I made with my own resources, coaching has consistently delivered benefits that far outweighed the costs. It's not just about professional growth; coaching has helped me achieve results I never thought possible, both personally and in my career.

One of the most impactful coaching partnerships I had was facilitated by Rewire, Inc., thanks to encouragement from my colleague and friend Steve Scanlon, the Founder and CEO. Initially skeptical, I was eventually won over by the profound impact of working with a coach who understood my challenges and aspirations. Together, we navigated obstacles, set ambitious goals, and significantly enhanced my job fulfillment and performance.  This experience ignited my own passion for coaching my teams and was a catalyst for launching my business today.

Here are five key benefits that leadership coaching can offer, based on my own experiences and observations:

Strategies for Intentional Leadership vs. Chaotic Management

Coaching helps leaders move beyond reactive management styles to embrace intentional leadership.  Focusing on strategic decision-making skills and action plans, leaders will steer their teams with clarity and a shared sense of purpose.

Roadmap for Achieving Corporate Goals

Coaching provides a structured pathway.  Leaders create actionable plans that drive meaningful progress in their careers.  The ROI becomes obvious the more finish lines they cross.

Effective Communication Strategies for Both Upstream and Downstream

Let’s face it, sometimes your boss or that teammate just doesn’t get what you are trying to say or worse … doesn’t react at all!  Coaching equips leaders with the tools to communicate persuasively, listen actively, and foster a culture of open dialogue within their teams and across organizational departments and levels.

Assistance Overcoming Obstacles with Projects or Team Dynamics

Ever have that roadblock that seems insurmountable?  Coaching can help you break issues down into solvable pieces … eating that proverbial elephant one bite at a time.  A skilled coach serves as a trusted advisor, partnering with you to develop ways to address complex issues.

Unbiased Accountability Partner Who Keeps the Focus on Moving Forward

Sometimes we all need that gentle nudge to break through procrastination or devote the time it takes to complete our goals even though our calendars are full.  A coach provides support and encouragement, holding leaders accountable for their commitments or reworking them to be more impactful.
